Use & Care

Developed on KULKEA’s Intuitive Packing System™ the Thermal Trekker optimally organizes ski items, including placing one boot in each of the two separate side boot pockets. Boots and apparel are effectively warmed using KULKEA’s Thermal Conduction Design™ that directly transfers heat to both sides and the bottom of each ski boot while also emanating into the central compartment for apparel.

Use & Care Instructions

  1. Check that the heated pads, sleeves and cords are properly attached to the bag.
  2. Remove snow and moisture from the outer shell of ski boots and place one boot in each side boot pocket with toes pointing toward the front of the bag.
  3. Zip boot pockets closed; boot pockets may remain slightly unzipped for ventilation.
  4. Remove any items that may be sensitive to heat, such as goggles, helmet or leather.
  5. To warm boots insert AC plug into 120V wall outlet and select designed setting.
  6. To keep ski boots warm during transit insert DC plug into 12V automobile outlet.
  7. The heating system is for use only within the Kulkea designated and approved bag and for purposes of warming alpine ski boots and apparel.
  8. To clean, unplug the bag and allow it to completely cool before hand spot cleaning.
  9. If wet, allow the bag to ventilate; never put in an electric dryer or use a hand dryer.
  10. Store the bag in a cool dark and dry place when not in use.

Note: For boots, gear or apparel that may be temperature sensitive, consult the item manufacturer before warming.

Caution: The pack is used for carrying heavy alpine ski gear. Skiing, ski gear and winter conditions are inherently dangerous, and caution must be taken at all times when using this product. Never use this product improperly, too close to property or other people. This pack is designed for use by adults.

  • M (120W) – For use between 3-6 hours.
  • L (80W) – For use between 6-8 hours.

Note: The guidance above is subject to surrounding room temperatures and the temperature at which boots are before heating. Do not heat for longer than 8 hours.

DC Plug

The DC plug is for keeping boots warm during automobile transit. Upon arrival at the ski destination, turn-off the automobile and unplug the bag. The DC plug is 90W (Draws 5 Amps) and connected by a 65” / 165cm cord.

Note: Use of the DC plug while the motor is not running may deplete the automobile’s battery. To reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning do not use the DC plug while the automobile is stationary.

    Trekker Heated Ski Boot Bag

Posted by Jeff Deppe on 26th Sep 2019

Love this bag. I did a lot of research on heated bags and they all have their hooks, so to speak. The trekker un like all of the rest, have separate/induvidual heating compartments that allow the boots to heat up much faster. 90 min versus as much as 6 hours. The bag is large enough to carry most of your gear, depending on the individual and also has a helmet slinkier g that is very handy. The customer service was great and the free shipping was even better.

    Heated boot bag

Posted by Unknown on 14th Mar 2019

This bag carries just the items I need for a day of skiing. Best part is ability to plug bag into a DC outlet in car so boots are heated when I arrive at resort to ski. That is critical since I have titanium screws in my great toe so boot needs to be flexible toopen up for my foot. This bag is just what I needed.

Thermal trekker is the best gear bag I’ve ever owned

Posted by Brad in Sun Valley on 15th Mar 2018

As a point of reference, I’ve been in and around the Ski Industry for about 50 years.
As a Retailer, Factory Rep, Athlete, Bio Mechanic, and Custom Boot Fitter.
I ski in a race boot, and without a warm shell they are nearly impossible to get on.
In the past I’d have to pre warm the shell via boot oven or heat gun in order to easily boot up.
But ! Since getting thsi amazing bag, I spend a lot less time dealing with such things.
I simply Pre Pack and turn my bag on well before heading to the mountain, walk in sit down and boot up
in minutes, warm soft shells are “butter” to slide on.
Simply Said, "My Thermal trekker is the best gear bag I’ve ever owned."
It’s stable and reliable with regards to heat which is critical as I Ski in a Fischer Vacuum Boot.
I also have nerve damage from frost bite in my toes and fingers, and being able to start warm
in both extremities is a game changer here in Idaho where we have morning temps near zero often.
I can carry everything I need for the day in one bag, boot up quickly and warm.
    Woo Hoo !

    Awesome Bag!

Posted by Greg Ralph on 21st Dec 2017

This is the best boot bag I've ever had, it holds everything and keeps the boots toasty. I can carry all of my gear to the mountain in one bag comfortably.
Being able to plug it in the wall and a car lighter means I arrive at the mountain with warm boots that are mush easier to put on. Just an Awesome Bag!

    This Bag is Toasty

Posted by Eric J on 13th Dec 2017

Never thought I'd use a heated bag, but after gearing up last weekend, I will never go back to a non-heated bag! My boots were warm and easier to put on and my jacket gloves and stuff were warm too. Great bag and construction looks super sturdy.

Best heated bag...others not even close!

Posted by Charlie with warm boots! on 20th Nov 2017

Got my heated bag as a gift and felt compelled to share my thoughts. I've used other heated bags in the past and my biggest grip was that once I put my boots in there wasn't much room for anything else other than to jam in my other gear and, my clothes got wet and dirty from my boots. Enter the Thermal Trekker: Individual boot pockets on the side, heats up quick, has pockets for all my other gear and stores my helmet on the outside! All fits in and comfy backpack set up to make it easy to carry. Clearly a better design and product.
